Produce Shift Leader

As a Produce Shift Leader , you’ll play a key leadership role in creating a fresh, colorful, and inviting department for every customer. You’ll guide your team to deliver the best produce experience — from maintaining freshness and quality to offering friendly, helpful service.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and motivate team members in the daily operation of the produce department.
• Ensure all products meet Meijer’s freshness and quality standards through regular rotation and inspection.
• Assign and monitor daily tasks, ensuring efficient and accurate work completion.
• Maintain well-stocked, visually appealing displays that highlight seasonal offerings.
• Train, coach, and develop team members to achieve sales and service goals.
• Partner with leadership to manage scheduling, ordering, and department performance.
• Maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive team culture.
• Support other departments as needed and assist customers with questions or product selections.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous grocery or retail experience preferred, leadership experience a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and coaching skills.
• Passion for quality, freshness, and customer service.
• Ability to build trust and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and move produce safely throughout your shift.
