Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist Location Anaheim, CA (Anaheim Hills area) : Objective: We are seeking an experienced veterinary assistant with positive attitude with great teamwork and client / patient care skills. About Us: Better Health Animal Hospital is a newly opened veterinary practice in Anaheim Hills, CA, committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to pets and their families. Our modern facility is equipped with the latest technology and staffed by a team of dedicated professionals. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and contribute to our mission of enhancing the health and well-being of animals. We practice high quality medicine with fear free philosophy and work with a lot of brachycephalic breeds. : As a Veterinary Assistant at Better Health Animal Hospital, you will support our veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality medical care. Your role will involve assisting with medical procedures, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital. Job Type: Full time / part time Expected Hours: 20-40 hours / week Schedule: M-F, Day Shifts, Saturdays as needed Key Responsibilities: - Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures and patient care. - Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked. - Restrain and handle animals safely and compassionately. - Perform basic laboratory tests and collect samples for analysis. - Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. - Provide support during surgeries, including preparation and monitoring of patients. - Educate pet owners on general pet care, preventive health measures, and post-treatment care. - Maintain accurate patient records and update client information. - Assist with front desk duties, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments as needed, and checking in/out clients. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in veterinary assisting is preferred. - Previous experience in a veterinary clinic is a must. Interest and experience with brachycephalic breeds is a plus. - Willingness to learn and contribute to the team - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with care and compassion. - Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. - Proficiency with computer systems and office software. - A strong commitment to animal welfare and a desire to learn and grow in the veterinary field.
