Back-to-School Babysitter Position - STARTING PAY $17.00 - $17.25/HR + eligibility for wage increases + gas reimbursements + fun performance rewards while making a difference for local families! Babysitter positions may be work-day coverage, After-School pick-up, date nights, church nursery shifts, weekend coverage or periodic care dates, depending on your availability. Please Note: This is a part-time role (0-25 hrs/week). If you’re seeking full-time work, this may not be the right fit. Responsibilities - Ensuring Safety – Monitoring children closely to prevent accidents, keeping hazardous items out of reach, and following emergency procedures.
- Feeding and Meal Preparation – Preparing and serving age-appropriate meals and snacks, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Diapering and Toileting Assistance – Changing diapers for infants and toddlers, assisting young children with toilet training, and promoting hygiene.
- Supervising Activities – Engaging children in age-appropriate activities, including playtime, crafts, reading, and educational tasks.
- Providing Emotional Support – Comforting upset children, offering positive reinforcement, and maintaining a nurturing environment.
- Managing Sleep and Nap Schedules – Putting babies and toddlers to sleep, ensuring older children follow bedtime routines, and maintaining consistency.
- Helping with Homework – Assisting school-aged children with assignments, studying, and school projects when needed.
- Transporting and Outings – Taking children to school, activities, or parks while ensuring safety in transit.
- Household Assistance – Cleaning up after meals, tidying play areas, and doing light household tasks related to childcare.
- Communicating with Parents – Providing updates on the child's behavior, activities, and any concerns while following parental instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and physically able to move and engage with children, can hear, see and communicate effectively
What We’re Looking For - Availability for two consistent weekdays (Mon–Fri) between 7AM and 7PM. Don't worry—you won't be working 12-hour shifts! This just means you're open to caring for families within this time frame.
- 1+ years of childcare experience (infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or school-aged kids).
- 2-3 professional childcare references (non-family).
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain—ask us about training!).
- Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
- Must be 18 years or older.
