Plant Electrical & Controls Technician

Location: Stockton, CA

• 3rd Shift: 11:00pm – 7:30am

Core Responsibilities

• Use electrical prints and wiring diagrams to install, commission, and repair equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and service motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and related mechanical assemblies.
• Perform lubrication, cleaning, alignment, and mechanical adjustments to restore performance.
• Execute major electrical tasks: 3‑phase/440V work, PLC fault finding, new equipment hookups, circuit replacement and testing.
• Diagnose faults in wiring, switches, motors, and components with ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, test lamp, and megger.
• Replace switches, sockets, and other electrical devices; remove/replace transformers and lighting fixtures.
• Apply lockout/tagout and all safety procedures without exception.
• Communicate repair status and recurring issues to production leadership and maintenance supervisors.
• Operate tools and shop equipment required to complete work orders.
• Fabricate and repair parts using minor machining and gas/electric welding.
• Cover both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting independently during off-shifts.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of production and facility service systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in automated manufacturing.
• Two-year electrical degree or comparable education preferred (not mandatory).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer literacy for PMs, work orders, and diagnostics.
• History of working with—and positively influencing—teams.
• Training in lockout/tagout procedures.

Your Toolkit

• Strengths: PLC troubleshooting, equipment diagnostics, 120/208/240/480V systems, motor replacement/repair/maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, industrial electrical expertise.
• Technologies: Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), conveyor systems.
