Job Posting: Part-Time Firefighter
The City Fire Department is seeking motivated Part-Time Firefighters to support daily staffing and serve alongside our full-time crews. This paid, non-benefitted position allows up to 999 hours of work annually.
Position to begin in January 2026. Responsibilities:Respond to emergencies and perform firefighting, rescue, and EMS support duties
Maintain monthly training and readiness requirements
Work 12–24 hour shifts as scheduled, primarily at Station 2
Follow department policies, safety standards, and supervision from company officers
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a physical ability test and background/medical screenings
Firefighter I (within 6 months of hire)
HazMat Awareness/Operations
EMT certification preferred
Schedule & Pay:
Up to 96 hours per pay period / 999 hours per year
Hourly compensation starting at $15.17/hour (Recruit or Firefighter grade based on certifications)
