Job Description
Our client, a nationwide provider of pre-engineered, high-performance water and sewage solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced, Outside Sales Representative - Construction & Plumbing, to join our winning team in Frederick. Our candidate of choice will be responsible for driving sales by establishing and nurturing relationships with plumbing and mechanical contractors. Your primary focus will be on promoting and selling our pumping equipment and related controllers, ensuring we are the go-to provider for pump bid opportunities. You will be key in increasing market share and driving revenue growth for the company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Execute established annual sales plans to achieve revenue targets. Conduct a minimum of 4-5 sales calls per day, at least 3 days per week. Generate a minimum of 2-3 quotes per day to prospective customers. Maintain a proactive follow-up process to meet follow up requirements. Participate and engage actively in daily huddles, monthly virtual/live meetings, and activity reviews. Become proficient with our customer relationship management (CRM) system and ensure accurate maintenance of customer base data. Build strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams outside of the sales department, with a particular focus on the sales support team in estimating and project management. KEY REQUIREMENTS: Strong mechanical aptitude or a keen interest in mechanical systems. Degree in a relevant field such as Business, Engineering, Marketing, or Sales that provides a solid foundation in business principles and industry knowledge. Prior experience in the plumbing or mechanical equipment industry, with a deep understanding of products, systems, and the specific needs of contractors in the construction sector. Previous experience in outside sales, preferably in the plumbing or mechanical equipment industry. Experience in managing and nurturing long-term client relationships, ensuring repeat business and continuous engagement. Ability to maintain fairness and professionalism in interactions with internal and external customers. Proven capacity to manage stress, resolve conflicts, and effectively handle issues. Comfortability working independently, with the self-discipline to stay organized, set priorities, and meet deadlines without constant supervision. Strong work ethic with a commitment to aligning with business needs and core values. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Analytical mindset with strategic thinking capabilities. Sound judgment and decision-making skills. Highly organized with proficient computer skills. High school diploma or equivalent. Clean driving record.
