Major Responsibilities: - Responsible for abstracting ICD 10 CM diagnoses codes and CPT procedural codes in accordance with official coding guidelines.
- Abstract any other clinical information from medical records.
- Maintain standard industry productivity rates (minimum 8 to 10 charts/hour)
- Demonstrate ability to maintain high quality standards of 95% or greater.
- Proficient in utilizing technology (Encoder, MS Office) to perform responsibilities.
- Follow client specific guidelines wherever applicable & working as per client updates and coding the charts accordingly.
Essential Responsibilities: - Communicates with department manager or client on coding, compliance, and documentation issues
- Seeks clarification from healthcare providers or other designated resources to ensure accurate and complete coding.
- Enhances coding knowledge and skills with continuing education activities and by reviewing pertinent literature.
- Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Follows guidelines for each project as set by the client.
Required Skills: - CPC, COC, CCS or CIC certification with minimum 2 years’ experience in professional fee (E/M) coding and/or hospital outpatient coding.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have thorough knowledge of medical anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Official Coding Guidelines for ICD-10-CM for correct and accurate coding.
- EPIC training a plus! Specialties include GI, anesthesia, wound care, pediatrics, radiology, and general surgery.

Salary: $25.00 - $28.00/hour depending on experience. This position is eligible for full health insurance including medical/dental/vision, PTO, and a 401k match! *A Coding Assessment Test will be administered before initial pre-screen.
