Lab Technician/Kitchen Technician – Food Manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Lab/Kitchen Technician to join our food manufacturing team. This individual will play a vital role in supporting R&D and Innovation by ensuring product reviews are scheduled and executed smoothly, facilities are prepared and compliant, and the lab/kitchen is maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Assist with scheduling product reviews, tastings, and R&D sessions.

  • Coordinate timing with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, Operations, Marketing).

  • Ensure necessary samples, materials, and documentation are prepared ahead of sessions.

Facility Preparation & Support

  • Set up lab and kitchen spaces for product reviews, ensuring proper equipment, utensils, and ingredients are available.

  • Support R&D teams during product development and pilot runs by preparing workstations, handling samples, and assisting with testing protocols.

  • Maintain organized inventory of lab/kitchen supplies.

Compliance & Cleanliness

  • Ensure lab and kitchen areas are maintained in compliance with food safety and company standards.

  • Perform regular cleaning, sanitizing, and organization of work areas, equipment, and storage.

  • Hold team members accountable for following safety, sanitation, and compliance practices.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with R&D scientists and food technologists to streamline workflow.

  • Document and log results, ensuring traceability for audits and reviews.

  • Provide feedback on lab/kitchen processes and suggest continuous improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of experience in a food manufacturing, food science, or laboratory setting (internship/academic experience considered).

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities.

  • Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, or regulatory standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF) preferred.

  • Hands-on, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a clean and compliant workspace.
