General Superintendent – Commercial Construction (project-based / contract to start)
Location: Central Arkansas (local projects)
We are an owner-led commercial general contractor focused on commercial remodels, tenant finish-outs, and select ground-up projects. We are rebuilding momentum and are currently pursuing upcoming work. We are looking to connect with a General Superintendent who is open to a project-based or contract role to start, with the potential to grow into a long-term position as workload increases.
This is not a corporate GC role. It is a leadership position with real authority in the field and direct access to the owner. This role is best suited for someone comfortable with growth-stage companies and flexible work structures.
Responsibilities
• Provide field leadership during active projects
• Lead job startups including site logistics, schedules, and subcontractor coordination
• Enforce safety, quality, and schedule standards on site
• Coordinate subcontractors and inspectors
• Solve field issues independently and communicate clearly with ownership
• Represent the company professionally with clients and trade partners
This role is not a paper-based PM position and not a micromanaged job. When a project is active, you will be expected to lead the field operations.
Requirements
• 15+ years of commercial construction experience
• Background as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent
• Experience running commercial remodels, tenant finish-outs, or ground-up projects
• Strong communication skills and calm under pressure
• Respected by subcontractors and inspectors
• Local or regional candidates preferred
Compensation and structure
This position will begin as a project-based or contract role. Compensation will be tied to active projects and structured as a monthly contract amount or daily rate. There is no pay obligation when no project is active.
As the company secures additional work, this role may convert to a full-time salaried position with bonus potential. Health and retirement benefits are not currently in place but are planned as the company grows.
This opportunity is ideal for someone seeking flexibility, authority, and the chance to help build field operations from the ground up without corporate bureaucracy.
To apply, submit your resume and a brief note describing your background, the types of projects you have led, and your availability for project-based work.
