Senior DevSecOps / Azure DevOps / OpenShift Engineer

Position Overview
This role serves as a lead DevSecOps and Azure DevOps/OpenShift (Kubernetes) engineer within a large-scale enterprise environment supporting highly complex application ecosystems. The engineer will contribute deep technical and architectural expertise to modernization, automation, and platform engineering initiatives.

The position provides technical leadership, mentorship, and hands-on engineering across CI/CD pipelines, container platforms, cloud infrastructure, observability, and secure DevOps practices. This role partners closely with application development teams to ensure platform alignment with solution requirements. A strong understanding of APIs, microservices, containerization, and modern platform technologies is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead DevSecOps strategy, automation, and platform engineering across multiple enterprise applications.
  
• Design, implement, and optimize Azure DevOps (ADO) structures, including Wikis, Work Item hierarchies, Git repositories, branching strategies, pull request workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and operational standards.
  
• Build and automate CI/CD pipelines for both legacy and modern Java and .NET applications, integrating with technologies such as Tomcat, JBoss, SQL Server, Oracle, Windows, and Linux environments.
  
• Architect and support CI/CD automation on Red Hat OpenShift/OCP and related platforms.
  
• Create, maintain, and troubleshoot build, deployment, and Custom Resource Definition (CRD) configuration files for containerized workloads on OpenShift.
  
• Develop and convert Docker and S2I images; support stateful sets and container orchestration best practices.
  
• Maintain container image repositories and registries (e.g., Quay).
  
• Work collaboratively with development teams and operational teams to ensure successful deployment, upgrades, and lifecycle support of applications on container platforms.
  
• Administer and optimize Elastic Stack components (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), including index lifecycle management, pipeline creation, and performance tuning.
  
• Configure and manage Filebeat, Heartbeat, and other Elastic Beats.
  
• Integrate code quality and security scanning tools (SonarQube, Coverity, Black Duck) into ADO pipelines and pull request workflows.
  
• Write and maintain automation scripts using Linux shell scripting (.ksh, bash) and Python.
  
• Diagnose and troubleshoot application issues, including Java-related errors and platform-level problems.
  
• Apply strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP), SSL, authentication (LDAP), and related security protocols.
  
• Produce clear, concise technical documentation and contribute to standards, processes, and knowledge-sharing across teams.
  

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience working with Kubernetes/OpenShift in large enterprise environments.
  
• 8+ years of Linux shell scripting experience (bash, ksh).
  
• 5+ years of expert-level experience in application containerization and container lifecycle management.
  
• Strong experience implementing DevSecOps practices, infrastructure automation, and secure development pipelines.
  
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with the following technologies:
