Overview of Position

The role of the Associate Pastor is to administer to the faith needs of the congregation and community of Grace Bible Church. The primary focus of this position will be oversight of ministries related to youth and children while also assisting the Lead Pastor in the functions and duties related to discipleship, teaching, and administrative oversight. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

Youth Ministry

• Creating a welcoming atmosphere while overseeing youth meetings
• Meeting with youth for relationship building and discipleship
• Planning youth outings and special trips throughout the year
• Developing relationships with parents and assisting them in the spiritual development of their children
• Overseeing the “Wednesday Night Live” children’s program
• Overseeing the VBS program
• Teaching the Jr/Sr High School Sunday School class

Pastoral Ministry

• Faithfully attending and participating in GBC worship services
• Teaching and preaching regularly (at least once every 8 weeks)
• Leading services when the Lead Pastor is absent
• Assisting in pastoral care of church members including visiting as requested
• Attending and participating in regular pastoral and elder meetings and other meetings as needed
• Assisting in training, counseling, and other pastoral duties as needed
• Learning from and working alongside of the Lead Pastor, performing any other duties as needed

Qualifications

• A testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him.
• Agreement with the Statement of Faith of Grace Bible Church
• Youth Ministry experience
• Bachelor’s degree - preferred 
• Open to ordination through local pastoral council (if not previously ordained)
• Ability to play guitar and/or keyboard and sing - a plus!  

Salary: $55,000-$60,000 plus benefits package
